“Loyalty like Lassie”

Arsenal need loyalty, this is a fact, with loyalty comes heart and with heart comes BMT, something Arsenal have been lacking. Players that will just leave when a bigger pay check or ‘bigger club’ come around, are players that in my opinion should not make up the bulk of the side.

As much as it pains me to say this, Manchester United is a team that has loyalty; their team is made up of a majority of players that are in love with their club. Giggs must be the most loyal Manchester United player I have ever lived to see and this is what runs through the veins of the club, and there are plenty of players with loyalty like him still there.

Arsenal need to find a player like Tony Adams he was a man that when a person thinks of him they can say ‘Tony Adams, now that was loyalty’. Addicted a perfect word to describe him and all he did, especially the passion with which he lead the Gunners in the early Wenger era.

Another thing that I believe is that Arsenal need to buy more British players, they seem to show more loyalty, I think that is because relatively speaking they are local players, so they they have less trouble understanding what the club means to diehard fans, that’s not to say that the overseas players don't, just might take them longer. Saying this players like Van Persie and Nasri have often stated their love for Arsenal and their desire to win things with Arsenal. Bergkamp and Pires to name a few showed loyalties through and through, but for me generally it is a local player. If you think about it, it stands to reason Fabregas loves Arsenal, but wants to go home to Spain and his boyhood club, sad, but makes sense.

Now a player such as Wilshere is a man who I see already having that loyalty and he is at home already, see what I am getting at. Walcott and Ramsey are also great for Arsenal and building that Loyalty. I believe to build this team we need leadership, loyalty and experience, this must be looked at when making a signing. Players like Gary Cahill and Scott Parker (loyalty will develop), instead of only buying, young talented players from abroad.

Fans what to be able to see the passion in their players, the passion for victory and the passion for the club, with loyalty comes heart, and with heart comes BMT.

Not Again Mr Glass

So The International Wolf has claimed another victim, who else but Mr Robin ‘Glass’ Van Persie.

The 27 year old Dutchman was in action against Hungary last night and helped his side to a 5-3 win, in an absolute goal fest. Van Persie opened the scoring for the Dutch with a drive past Hungary’s keeper, but was substituted at half time with a knee injury. The only positive is that he was able to walk off the field, if you as an Arsenal Fan can see the positive in VP being injured.

He suffered a knee injury in the shock cup final defeat against Birmingham City in February, but made a surprise recovery to face Barcelona in the Champions second leg (only to be sent off to a shocking decision)

It seems that Arsene Wenger, will have more headaches as his star striker can be added to his already long injury list. With fixtures still against ‘New’ Liverpool (as I like to call them now), Spurs and the possible decider to it all Manchester United, it will be key to have Mr glass back in action. From what action he last night he really night he really is on the form of his life and Arsenal will really need him.

Best case scenario is that he pulled himself off just to be safe and he will be ready for action on the 2nd of April when the Gunners meet Blackburn Rovers.

International wrap.....

Arsenal players were on duty this weekend, and although I was delighted that it gives a chance for some of our players to come back from injury, it also left a fear in me as Arsenal players are injury prone at best, but during internationals, they are made of glass. You don't agree....well you are wrong, Van Persie and Walcott have a huge history with legs like fine china.

Nicklas Bendtner went off injured in training but was still able to complete the 90minutes in Denmark's 1-1 draw with Norway. Marouane Chamakh played for Morocco against Algeria, but was unable to prevent a 1-0 defeat in their Afcon qualifier. As for our other gifted striker, who I think is close to the form of his life was on the score sheet as Holland crushed Hungary 4-0, he completed the full 90min and thank goodness he did not get injured.

Aaron Ramsey captained Wales as he met Jack Wilshere and England in a British clash in Cardiff on Saturday and it was a battle of the future two best midfield pairing in the world. Jack's England looked in control the entire game with a new 4-3-3 formation and won 2-0. The Capello clown actually showed some brains and had their best team on the park and showed that they are much like the South African cricket side, brilliant in friendlies and qualifiers but chokers in World Cups.
Jack was very impressive in the midfield and we can shed a tear of Joy as Arsenals favorite son showed his class.

France defeated Luxembourg 2-0 and saw Nasri and Sagna in action, Nasri was named captain(yet another Arsenal international captain, but yet we have no leader at Arsenal) and supplied the cross for the opening goal, Clichy did not see any game time, but I'm sure he will in the friendly mid-week.
Rosicky the Clown played for the Czechs as Spain snatched a 2-1 victory from their grasp, that saw the Barca man Villa score a brace. Mr Russia Arshavin played 90minutes in their 0-0 draw to Armenia(who....just jokes, but really)
Eboue's Ivory Coast were victorious as Drogba netted a brace to give them a win over Benin.
Lastly it saw Vela (who is currently on loan as West Brom) and Mexico take on Paraguay and saw them win 3-1 and mow take on Venezuela this week.

So all in all a successful weekend for Arsenal players and no injuries which is the important thing, lets just hope they come back and bring with them a drive for victory.
But hey I'm not Biased.......

Drift Wood

Well here is a break and a good chance, I think  to look at the current group of Guns and decide who the top 5 are that should be sent packing.

1. Number one on my list is the man known as little Mozart, Tomas Rosicky the man is getting on in years and really I don't think he can get any better. When I see him take the field I feel myself dying inside as he literally contributes nothing to the team. Making his runs and his turns all amount to nothing as he more often than not passes or loses the ball to opposition and hardly tracks back. If he is what we have to offer as a sub for the likes of Fabregas, then maybe we will have to wait a few more years for a trophy....sell him

2. Next on the list and very close to being first is Denilson, if this is our answer to replace Song or Wilshere, we are doomed. After showing signs of improving over the last 2 seasons, he has taken more steps backwards than Joe Cole (ok maybe not that much, well done to Liverpool for stealing that gem of a signing from under our noses). Denilson is a poor one on one defender and more than often fouls the player and gives away a set piece (very costly to us Guns) he really does not add anything to the team as his short passes could be completed by a 5 year old, if he tries a pass of more than 5 meters it is immediately straight to the opposition. What more can I say then I think we would play better with 10 men on the park, he needs to be sold.

3. Almunia is next, I don't think I need to say anything about this poor guy, I do feel sorry for him, but with Howlers against West brom home and away I can safely say he is just costing us goals, why don't we just put Shea in goal, or let Lehman in there, can't be any worse. Yes he played well against Barca and has been preforming better since his return, but we cannot afford this if we want to be the best side in England. I don't know if Arsenal need to buy a keeper cause I really do have faith  in Szczesny, but they do need to let Almunia go he really is drift wood.

4. Number 4 on my list is Squillaci , yes we only got him this season, but he has had a mixed season to say the least. At most I think Arsenal could keep him as backup to the backup, Please Arsene buy someone like Mertesacker or Boltons Gary Cahill. Squillaci has preformed well in some games, but has lacked that confidence at the back that Arsenal so badly need. His indecision has cost Arsenal on many occasions and I really have grown tired of this Arsenal side that looks like Men going forward and Children at the back.

5. Abou Diaby I have added Diaby because although he is really talented and shows signs of being world class, he does not have the passion and desire I want to see in my players (like you see in Wilshere). He tends to give up and fall out of games, as though he is asleep. During the Barca at the Nou Camp, he seemed to be scared and when tackling the opposition he seemed to say sorry after every tackle...man up...I want players who want to play for Arsenal, I don't another Anelka who only plays when he wants and wants to leave to a 'bigger club'

There are more that could be added to the list, but those are my top. I don't know what you guys think, but I for one think changing these players for new ones will make us the mighty Guns we know we can be.
Buy Hey I'm not Biased......
Top Gun out

Woes Continue

So Arsenal May have more injury problems, as I said I hoped the International break would allow for some of our players to return from injury, but what I also said was that for Arsenal the international break is cursed. Saying this Arsenals season took another turn for the worse as Nicklas Bendtner limped out of training on Wednesday with Denmark with an ankle problem. Bendtner is in Copenhagen for Saturday's European qualifier with Norway, but left Denmark's training session with his ankle packed in ice.

I am not saying that he is a vital player and he likes to talk a big game as we all know, but with our star striker Vp made of glass it is only a matter of time until the Bent will be needed, we can only pray that doesn’t happen. Although of late I have been growing rather fond of the striker with the touch as delicate as a Angry Rhinoceros….I would much rather he plays that Rosicky and he does play with passion of late and moving with purpose unlike Denilson.

So more injury woes for us Guns As many as eight first-teamers were missing at West Bromwich Albion last Saturday, including captain Cesc Fabregas, and he now faces the possibility of losing Bendtner, who has contributed eight goals this season.

Let’s hope the Gunners can think of something that doesn’t involve Thomas, but hey I’m not biased.

Jack Jack Shine your light…..

You know what this is a Tribute to the man who I think should not only win young player of the year, but be a massive contender for player of the year….It has to be said why the hell not. I raise my glass to the Jack a boy who has played like a man.

When Arsenal fans look back on their season and think, our players just lost heart and did not push, the complete opposite can be said about Jack Wilshere, the boy, nay the man wears his heart on his sleeve and you can see he love Arsenal and playing football, Jack has made 28 appearances in the league this year and has showed no signs of slowing down. His ability to stay calm under pressure has seen him display skill beyond his years. This was evident with Messi’s compliments that were given to the Jack after the Barca first leg. Arsenal fans have never been disappointed with this man this season and even if his performance slipped he always still gives 200% percent which any fan can appreciate. His drives forward and tracks back, tackling and dribbling and not to mention that pass that splits defences.

I defiantly believe that as he gains seniority in the team he will become a dominant voice in the dressing room and be the inspiration of his Gunner generation.

So raise your glass Gooners to The Jack and let’s bring that trophy home….

Do the Gunners have what it takes to place the title in the bare cabinet?

In the words of Barack Obama ‘Yes We Can’ and in the words of De Andrade ‘Yes we will’

So this is a boring time for us Gunners that only see us in action again on the 2nd of April against Blackburn, but it is an important time for us in this break the Gunners need to pull themselves together, find inspiration (the bloody title) and leadership. Fabregas is a great player, but we need an out and out leader. In this time it is crucial that Song, Fab and Theo come back from injury and that no more are injured in this accursed international break. Arsenal I believe with players as Vp, Nasri, Theo, Song, Arshavin, and Jack can take us to the title…players like Almunia, Rosicky and Denilson cannot. I do feel sorry for Almunia, but really I’m sorry it’s time to move on.
So Gunners have got to keep the faith a little longer before we light the torches and gather the pitch forks we can do it and I have faith we will
But, hey I’m not Biased

A 3 Horse Race?

Well it seems I have to eat my words as I recently said that it was a 2 horse race, but it seems that the Blues have suddenly come charging up from behind with a run of good form, must be that new signing Torres....ok jokes aside they are back in a realistic hunt and United and Arsenal will be wary.
Take a look at their run, that the Manc Lee Fletcher, almost as useless as Darren Fletcher, pointed out to me...
So United Still have Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea to play all in a row, not to mention the other competitions that they are still in.....
Can't say the same for the Gunners.....dammit..... anyway lets hope the Red Devils find it all to much to handle and their injury woes prove to be their down fall.

Chelsea Have the easiest run of the three with only having to play Spurs and Man United, and with the league form of spurs at the moment, Chelsea should have all the belief in the world. Stoke has been in fine form of late and lets hope a trip to the Britania, that some call a 12th player on the pitch because of passion of the fans, prove a stronger obstacle than they would have hoped for. Maybe Shawcross can end one of their players as he likes to do.
But as far as the fixture list, its looking good for the Blues.

Now, the bloody Gunners could have shot themselves in the foot AGAIN....we have lost points against some easy teams and it may be the end of us. Liverpool(new Liverpool), Spurs, Bolton, United and Villa all left to play. The Gunners by far have the hardest run left. My hope is that with this international break, we will see Fabregas, Song, Walcott and one of our keepers back(a miracle is needed) so that Rosicky and Denilson will not play another minute for the Gunners.....Then we will win the title.
If Wenger stops being so stubborn and realizes that certain players would not make it in a Stoke side and are playing for Arsenal he must get a clap.....I still have faith in him, but he needs to buy big this summer and let that drift wood go....
So Gunners for the Title pls pls!

But hey I'm not Biased.......

Blues and Reds back to there best....

So the X factor has returned to the and taken away the 'Blues' of Chelsea, but is the not the R50 million man who made all the transfer news, its the other dude with the big hair...the Brazilian David Luiz. He is becoming a cult hero already for Chelsea, as his header broke the deadlock to give Chelsea the lead against Man City. The other Brazilian Ramires that made in 2-0 to hand Chelsea the victory and see them leap frog Man City to go 3rd. People who had written off the Blues might be eating their words as they are still in with a realistic shot......and with the bloody gunners in poor form they could catch us lets hope they pull themselves together.....
In a battle of money it sees the Blue of Chelsea rather than Man City emerging on top. As for Torres he again was not effective and did not convert his chances...its seems to be a waste of money for the Blues and all I can say is haha serves him right for the way he left Liverpool, Reds fans must be saying 'karmas a bitch'

Speaking of Liverpool they also got back to winning ways after a disappointing European exit. Since King Kenny has taken control Liverpool have taken 20 points for 10 games and if they had this form all season would see them sit in 2nd place.....I personally think they were very lucky yesterday with a controversial penalty and playing against a ten man Sunderland. However I believe they will be title contenders next year as I can't believe I'm saying this.....I wish Arsenal had bought the handballer/biter as he is sharp player. “These referees always favour the top four or five teams in the country,” that's what a leaving Sunderland fan had to say after the game as fans were ready to ring the refs neck.....seems to be a theme lately and maybe the FA should look and see that often where theres smoke...theres more often then not...fire.

So the Reds and Blues picked up wins and the most optimistic of Liverpool fans will believe that 4th place is still a possibility. As for Chelsea lets hope they don't catch Arsenal, but I hope they beat Man United again.....But hey I'm not Biased

BMT!!!!

This all comes down to BMT, those who have it and those who don't. Arsenal don't and United do, plain and simple. Bloody Bloody United they have Evans sent off and are down to 10 men, but in the 88th minute score a winner....BMT, that is how you win titles with passion and heart. Arsenal on the other hand go down 1-0 after 2minutes on the clock, to oh a set piece, having not conceded before that in the league for over 4 hours it is clear how we already miss Djourou.
I never thought there was a worse player than Rosicky, but Denilson might take the cake. What a terrible player can't even describe how useless he is, another player that I'd love to see his pass competence%. Now the second half starts we make the changes immediately, Marouane Chamakh on for the clown, but wait we concede again, a moment of madness from who else, but the best goal keeper Arsenal have ever had. What was he thinking after having a promising comeback the F***er does that, what a nightmare. Now the Bent on pls pls Arsenal, so Arshavin scores a cracker come on the Gunners, but no we are walking everywhere. What is this new thing to walk when we need to pick up the pace and win. We score again VP now surely we will going into a frenzy to win the game......no we don't we continue to walk and look like we don't want to win. This is why Fabregas is looking from the stands thinking 'I can't wait to go to Barcelona, please come and get me'. No BMT none and although I hate United they have loads of it.....

We have some time off now for the International break, hopefully we can pull ourselves together and pull our heads out of our Arses....Come on Wenger and come on Arsenal

Back to the Race...

So the Premier league is back this weekend and see's the fixtures on the right taking place. The Gunners will be travelling to West Brom and we will be hoping for a Arsenal victory......pls pls pls gunners win, I don't think I can take another loss or draw, and our title challenge certainly cannot.
'In Arsene we trust' yes yes, but come on I sometimes wonder if he watches the same games that we do. If he plays that clown Rosicky again I will literally mail him a letter with my disgust as well as a death threat for Rosicky, I have nothing against him personally and I know all his team mates love him, but I literally think he would not even make the West Brom side. Can someone if they have them send me his stats for the season, as my dad likes to say that 'worst player since Gacesa' (not sure how to spell that).
Ok, so the Gunners have to Win and If they Don't play Rosicky I think we will do it, come on you Guns.

Man United Host Bolton and Just have a look at this. Its a worse situation than Arsenal, never thought it possible. Who the hell are they gonna play in defence, Carrick and Fletcher. This cost them the season last year and hopefully it will do the same. It is a beautiful thing to look at for any none Manc, but hopefully the physical nature of Bolton will prove a handful for the make shift back four and prove a lovely little upset for the Red Devils.

Chelsea take on Man City in the pick of this weekends Fixtures and its a battle of the "I buy my success" Titans, who will prevail to prove that in fact money can buy you the title.....wait a minute they are not fighting for the title they're fighting for a champions league place, well I guess thats the same thing...(haha)...
Ok to be fair Chelsea Still have a shot and from the recent poll on this blog 15% of you still believe Chelsea can do it, contrast that to the 47% that think Arsenal(yhea baby), 36% that back United and the 5% percent who back City(must have been a girl voting) its not crazy thought to think there is still a chance for the Blues.

One last thing I want to touch on is Arsenals medical staff......3 words, WORSE THAN ROSICKY......what I mean is they are pathetic I think we need to replace them all. 'Djourou out for the Season'....Wait a minute the Swiss FA have a look and they say something can be done and maybe it is not over. Now surely our team should have been able to see this, what is going on. Frank Lampard a While back gets the same treatment as VP that all I know involved a horse, what happens, Lampard back in a week miracle procedure, ok Arsenals turn, VP out for six months. If that wasn't the first sign then come on Arsene make a change.

Come on you Gunners, lets hope for a 3-0 victory and a United loss.........

Spurs in a Real Spot of Trouble?

The Champions League draw happened today and here's how it lined up

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Q/F DRAW

Real Madrid v TOTTENHAM
CHELSEA v MAN UTD
Barcelona v Shakhtar Donetsk
Inter Milan v Schalke 04
Ties to be played on 5/6 and 12/13 April.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE S/F DRAW
Inter Milan/Schalke 04 v CHELSEA/MAN UTD
Real Madrid/TOTTENHAM v Barcelona/Shakhtar Donetsk
Ties to be played on 26/27 April and 3/4 May.

So as a Manc friend of mine said 'Chelsea? Better than Barca, worse than Schalke', seems Man United and Chelsea fans are happy that they missed the Spanish Giants, especially Barca. It will bring a mouth watering English clash that I hope the Blues can win. United have Suffered more injury woes of late, with O'Shea and Rafael injured as well as the news that Rio could be out till the rest of the season, hopefully there season will spiral out of control. Ok but thats gonna be a great tie, as for Spurs haha, yes those clown drew who I hoped and I hope Real put 6 past them. Real representatives at the draw seemed very pleased  with the draw, but lets just hope they don't get ahead of themselves they haven't crushed them yet.
Poor Shakhtar who were delighted to avoid Barca in the last 16 at the expense of the Mighty Guns, but have now drawn them, and I don't see them  having a chance in hell of beating Barca, even if some players have a off game their team is full of superstar match winners who can just kick them into 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear Barca gear.......that basically means unstoppable.
Inter will meet Germans Schalke 04 which will see the defending champions as overwhelming favorites.
Some mouth watering matches lined up next month and a potential Spanish Giant Semi Final..............
More Banter later.

Champions League and a bit of Banter

Champions league football was on again last night and saw Chelsea play FC Copenhagen at the Bridge. Chelsea having a 2 away goal cushion didn't have many problems in the game and although they controlled the game they did not convert any of their chances and the game ended 0-0. Fernando Torres didn't start as he was rested because all the great games he's been having and goals he's been scoring.....please can you say biggest panic buy (ok maybe besides Carrol), if Barca were not willing to pay R50 mill for Fabregas then I don't see how Chelsea paid that for Torres.
Ok moving on, Real Madrid ran out comfortable 3-0 winners on the night against Lyon (4-1 agg) to see the special ones side move on to the last 8.....I have to say their performance last night was great and I actually have become convinced that Arsenal should buy Benzema and add to our French ranks, cause Arsenal don't have enough..... As for Di maria always been a fan and last night he showed way adding a goal to his performance.

So the last 8 are settled and the draw takes place on Friday, I hope Man United draw Barca and Spurs draw Real Madrid, just so they can be beaten and I don't have to listen to there peasant fans who have suddenly appeared out of the wood work.....
Ok that's enough for now...

Drama for Inter as they and Man United Progress (Sigh...)

There was mouth watering action last night that in the first match saw the Red Devils take on Marseille, I thought it would be a walk in the park for United and it started as such as Hernandez finished off a great goal started by Rooney. Man United took a two goal lead when the little Mexican scored again to almost put the game to rest, but the french side had different ideas and snuck one over the line from a Wes Brown head (most he's contributed to a match all season...hate him haha) to put fear in the hearts of those bloody Manc's.

Marseille will rue their missed chances as the Red Devils held out with a little hand bags been thrown around at the end, good to see that Hernandez fits into the "send off that player he touched me mentality that Nani heads up". Speaking of Nani my word what a recovery from a life threatening tackle, well clearly thats how it looked when he had to get stretchered off in the Liverpool game, glad to see that he is well....please what a clown.....
Ok but Man United deserved the win and move onto the last 8.....lets hope they draw Barca haha.

I must admit i was more interested in the other game with last years finalists heading off in the second leg after Inter lost the first one at home 1-0. They were off to a flyer as Eto'o leveled matters in the 4th minute to set the game alight.....however a man on form Mario Gomez netted from a clever overhead kick. Ten minutes later, Dejan Stankovic deflected Robben's through ball into the path ofThomas Mueller, who flicked the ball over the on-rushing Cesar with the outside of his right foot to make it 2-1, and handed Bayern what looked like a comprehensive 3-1 aggregate advantage.

All seemed gone until big man on campus Wesley Sneijder stepped up to pull a goal back, Inter pressed, but it looked like Bayern would have it until Goran Pandevsettled the tie on 88 minutes with a brilliant finish into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area, this set the match to 3-3 and Inter taking it on the away goal rule.

Big credit to Inter who have turned themselves around ever since that clown

Rafael Benítez left the club in chaos.
So Inter and Man United go marching on, Ive always liked Inter and I'm hoping they win it as for United I hope they Draw Barca lose 6-0 and pick up Injuries, but hey I'm not biased.

Champions League Tonight

So there are apparently a few matches on tonight that I frankly stopped caring about when Arsenal where Knocked out of the Champions league by the best team every to grace a soccer field (4-3 on agg).
But I guess these games still matter to some, Man united host Marseille. With a 0-0 draw in the first leg the Red Devils will be odds on Favorites to win, Gosh I hope they lose....but I would bet my house on them winning.
Inter will be travelling to Bayern after a 1-0 loss at the Home, Bayern will be favorites in this one and Robben on storming form will be the main threat for the German Giants.

Remember to give your opinion on who you think should be player of the season below.....

Who is Your Player of the Season?

So this season has seen many players come to the party to make this years title race the most exciting it has ever been with 5 clubs really putting up a fight. As it stands now there are probably only 2 in the race being Man United and Arsenal, but Chelsea have an outside chance after a turn around of that piss poor form.
Man City and Spurs could still be in the Hunt but lets be serious these teams have less BMT than Arsenal at the moment, and Arsenal have more chance of winning the treble then Spurs do of winning the league.

So onto who is the Player of the Season....well at the half way point of the season I had a pick of 5 that has more or less kept the same save one or two. Johan Elmander for Bolton, Carlos Tevez for Man City, Samir Nasri for Arsenal (my pick, not that I'm Biased), Rafael van der Vaart for Spurs and Nani for Man United. How my selection has changed is that I would have to say although Elmander's performances have been solid he has not retained that spur of class that kept him running with the big boys, but big credit to him. Rafael Van der Vaart started like no one else would have thought and was racking up rave reviews faster than Charlie Sheen goes through a bottle of whiskey. But the Dutchman has been hit by injuries and has not really found that form that saw him firing on all cylinders.

So who replaces these men, well for me and it pains me to say so is that Berbatov (that greasy Manc) will need a mention as he has racked up 19 goals this season and tops the goal scorers list. Vidic needs to be added for he is truly a player of class as he has definitely  made, in my opinion, a poor looking Man United (player depth wise) look like title winners. He has been rock solid and makes that clown Rio Ferdinand look like a quality defender, so Vidic is a definite inclusion for me. We could even add Bale just for the revelation that he has been this year for Tottenham with his Jet shoes and ability to turn a game even I that hater of all that is Spurs have to give him a tick.
So then Tevez, Nani and Nasri make up my picks, Tevez is the talisman of Man City and has been the man that they turn to when they need a victory and with 17 Premier league goals to his name he is a top contender. Nani apart from already being contacted by major Hollywood Studios for his cry on cue abilities, he has despite my hatred for him been able to make defenders tremble as he goes on his skill displaying runs so I guess I have to give him a Spot on the list.
Now Samir Nasri what a man what a player, hailed the next Zidane, Arsenal fans likely find it difficult to take any positives from the injuries suffered by captain Cesc Fabregas this season. However there has been one piece of good news: Samir Nasri has stepped out of the Fabs shadow signed from Marseille 2 years ago , Nasri has always had potential. But while he commanded central midfield and pulled the strings at Marseille, at Arsenal he found his superior in Fabregas. The Spaniard's excellence resulted in Nasri being shunted out to the wings. However with Fabregas now injured, much of the playmaking and goalscoring responsibility has fallen to Nasri and he has not disappointed. So for me it is the Naz he is the game changer that has kept us going and I hope he will rediscover his goal scoring touch and take home the league title and player of the year as well.
To end this off Jack Wilshere has to be a shoe in for young player of the year his consistent performances and touches of brilliance have kept Arsenal fans happy in times of sadness, as far as that clown Mario Balotelli his attitude is enough to make Man City fans agree that Jack is the man.

Post your comment on who you think is Player and young player of the year.

Ramsey Back for Gunners.

Aaron Ramsey’s comeback was pretty much the only positive aspect of Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Manchester United. He has been out for more than a year after that terrible injury at Stoke, but now has made his return to put a little smile on the  depressed Arsenal face. Hopefully he will step up and keep the likes of Rosicky and Denilson out of the team.

In other news Barcelona had a rare draw over the weekend as the failed to capitalize on chances against Seville for me it makes me happy as I took a bet this weekend they would draw and friends thought me silly, but hey I have cash in the hand now.

More Champions league action this week will keep us soccer fans busy, while Arsenal better be staring at the drawing board very hard so they can get back in the game.

No Heart for Arsenal

I’ve only been able to bring myself to post now, once again Man United have gotten the best of Arsenal. It seems that they just have the formula for beating us and no matter how we dominate the play we cannot seem to win. Two goals against the run of play shows the measure of a side that has heart, they have a shit side yet they win and play with guts. It makes me sad to think the only player who looked like he would die for Arsenal was Jack Wilshere and we need to change this.

It’s the same old story of leaky leaky Arsenal where our defence was found wanting once again. We perform so well in defence against Barcelona and then go to pieces at the back against those Mancs. To make matters worst Djourou is now out for the season with a shoulder injury and I can just see our title hopes slipping away, he has been the shinning light in our defence this season and I for one am devastated. Gibbs on the day was poor, he had no aerial presence and the twins had total control over him, he really needs to step up if he wants to make in this side.

As the sides came out and I saw the midfield was The Twins out wide with Gibson and O’Shea in the middle, I though Cake walk city…..yet for all our dominance we could not produce a killer blow. Fabio and Rooney’s (an all to familiar theme) goals were the end for Arsenal. United deserved their win and for me that old Dutchman in their goal played a huge part in that. Credit must go to their defence that has been very solid this season. And lastly that red faced Scotsman, Sir Alex he seems to have the beating of Arsenal and I only hope the professor can go back to the drawing board and bring the league home.

I think to take off a match winner such as Arshavin and replace him with the hapless Czech Rosicky is a crime in itself. He is terrible a waste of space and should be on the first bus out of Arsenal. Even that shot he had made no difference to how I feel about the player. Denilson is another problem although he is better than Rosicky he lacks that splitting pass and will only pass a maximum of 8 metres, we need a player that is a game changer, and I saw a change when Ramsey came on, he is a player we have missed in our squad and I have great belief in him. Almunia as well had a solid game and it seems the forgotten goal keeper is putting his hand up in Arsenals hour of need.

The Jack tweeted ‘we now have to focus on the prem and make sure we win….once again thank you 3gunners’…..this seems to becoming a theme how Arsenal fall out of another competition. We need to now pull ourselves together and win against West Brom so we can gain form to beat Man United once and for all when they come to the Grove….Come on Gunners pull it together.

Fergie takes on the Professor

So its Manchester United vs Arsenal meeting in the FA Cup quarter final at Old Trafford Tomorrow.

We all remember this from last time when Park closed his eyes and caught a deflection that luckily went into the net to give Manu the victory last time the two sides met. It was the worst way to lose as it was not even a real goal, more so Manu had grown their grass to hamper our beautiful playing style so their grass looked something out the Amazon rain forest

Not this time though Van Persie is fit and will be fired up from that ‘crock of shit’ sending off, At his pre-match media briefing on Thursday, Wenger revealed Van Persie suffered no ill-effects of the knee injury he picked up in the act of scoring in the Carling Cup Final and will be available for the trip to Old Trafford.
Also Wilshere with his fine form will make easy work of Carrick and Fletcher. The real threat for Arsenal is that Ogre Shrek or Rooney as he is known by the world, he has a habit of scoring against Arsenal, and if I can quote a Manc I know, “And here’s holding thumbs that Rooney can pull his finger out…” Let’s hope for our sake that it stays firmly wedged in there.
With Man united coming off the back of two consecutive league defeats the mighty Gunners are at the door and will want to take advantage of this and hit them while they are down. I for one am praying that they are going through what Chelsea went through this season and only recently are pulling themselves out of, wouldn’t that be great. Arsenal need silverware after that bloody loss to Birmingham, who I hope are relegated, and I they better get over this choke mentality that saw us draw to Sunderland.
Ok so for me the game will be decided in the midfield, so if Rosicky does not play we got this waxed…..I would rather have 10 men on the field than him. So my ideal 11 would be.

                                               Van Persie
                                                    Nasri
Arshavin                 Diaby                               Wilshere         Bendtner (not likely)
Clichy                   Koscielny                            Djourou        Sagna
                                                  Almunia

Don’t think that will be the side though, but Carrick and Fletcher have no chance against a midfield like that, could even throw Denilson into the mix for extra protection.
So my prediction is a 1-2 scoreline to Arsenal and United Woes continued, well lets keep the faith.

Wenger and Nasri both charged by UEFA

UEFA has made the following announcement:

"UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Arsenal FC coach Arsène Wenger and the English club’s midfielder Samir Nasri following last night’s UEFA Champions League first knock-out round second leg against FC Barcelona in Spain.

"Both are to face charges of improper conduct, and their cases will be heard by the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body on Thursday 17 March."

This from the official website, but all I can say about that no matter what team you support is what a pile of s**t even a girl who knows nothing about soccer, except that David Beckham married a Spice Girl, could see that was a useless decision. I wish i had that refs address I'd send him a pile of something to smell over......what a clown.

Fab out AGAIN

So Fabregas is out again, he admitted that he was playing through the pain in the Barca game and Wenger had this to say
“[Fabregas], no. He had a recurrence of his hamstring problem and he will be out for the next game. Maybe for the next two games”.
“He is, of course, very disappointed because it is becoming a little problem for him to [keep] having a recurrence of his hamstring. But it’s a very superficial one.”

Now what I am thinking is that he is becoming like Mr Glass himself (Van Persie, although he is back) what seems to happening to our Superstar captain is that he is becoming more and more injury prone as time goes on….or is that just because when things seem to be going right for Arsenal, the Universe spits down a curve ball. Oh well we could pair Eastmond and Rosicky together and they would be better than that former Spurs clown (Carrick) and Fergusons Love Child (Fletcher)…..ok maybe not Rosicky.

But seriously Arsenal what is with our Medical staff maybe bring in some modern standards because injuries come so thick and fast for us we are forced to play 1 complete pass in 100 players such as Rosicky….will someone shed some light as to what the deal is.

Spurs and Schalke Advance

Spurs faced off against AC Milan with a first Leg advantage, and this showed the benefit of winning their group as not having to play against a mighty Team such as Barcelona (something Arsenal will look back on with regret)

The game ended in a 0-0 draw and Spurs were very lucky to not have conceded on many occasions, such as Gallas clearing the ball off the line.

Spurs will be full of confidence having got past both Italian Giants Inter and Milan and will be relishing the chance to continue their European Adventure.

Harry Redknapp stated "It’s great for the players and great for the fans and great for everybody, I’m delighted,"
They will be hoping that they don't draw Barca in the next round, but from my point of view I hope they do and are beaten 6-0 in both legs.....we all have hopes i guess.

But I must give them credit as they are playing some quality football even if it was an average performance last night, and every Gunner bone in my body wants them to be thrashed in the next round

Schalke 04 Winger hit a brace as his side turned around last 16 second leg tie to win 3-1 and go through 4-2 on aggregate. Costa had given Valencia the lead before Farfan & Gavranovic scored twice to help them win. Well done to them as many thought that they would not do it and I hope they receive an easy draw (maybe Spurs) as I would like them to do well.

Right now for some Gunner News:

Almunia, the forgotten goalkeeper has stated that Arsenal could have beaten Barca, if our players were not walking to get to the ball. Almunia who surprised many including myself with his performance, may just be on crack because although we were walking at the end I think it had something to to do with that Cock of a ref reducing us to ten men and oh the small matter of, the best team ever in my opinion, running us raggered.

But ok, I'm past this now........Manu Next...I hate those mancs and go read my rivals at www.jimmysportzone.blogspot.com and www.eshibobo.blogspot.com to see things from a bloody manc point of view.

So Manu next and I fancy our chances, they are no Barca and don't nearly have the caliber of player save for maybe Rooney and the now injured cry baby. So I should hope for a Win, which would be a great thing especially as its away from home.........until next time.

Come on the Gunners!

Heart Ache

So we lost to Barca last night, in all our hearts we thought this was the most likely outcome, but as Gunners we had hope that Players like the mighty Jack would get us the victory.

As soon as I saw Rosicky in the side instead of the little Russian my heart sank......what was Arsen thinking. On the night I can say that despite all the pressure in the first half we held our own and it was only a error that caused the first goal at the end of the half. When we got that own goal I started jumping up and down and swearing at the TV saying 'hahaha you have to score twice' (and they did)....scoring a goal despite not having a single shot on goal was beautiful and Arsenal Fans around the world were flipping off those bloody pessimists.

But then the F***er of a ref sent off Vp for 'kicking the ball away' a single second after blowing the whistle....great ref...jolling.

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2914/champions-league/2011/03/08/2385720/robin-van-persie-irate-at-referee-massimo-busacca-after

How can he ever be allowed to ref again, it completely changed the game and the result in the end as the Gunners had no chance and eventually succumbed to a goal of Xavi brilliance and then a penalty that let the game slip away.

Our last chance fell to the Bent off a great ball by Wilshere, but it amounted to nothing and in the end Arsenal lost.

But lets look at the positives, we can focus on the league now that Barca is out of the minds. We first meet Man U next, there is no other team I hate more, especially because of their supporters bloody manc's, I hate them how they think every single one of their players are great....come on Fletcher and Carrick...useless....

So if we can defend like we did against Barca, ManU will not trouble us. And with the cry baby out
the threats are left to Rooney and that smelly ex spurs player.

So maybe its not all that bad and we can look to the near future and pray that we will beat the mancs and take the league and cup double............viva the Gunners
