Derby Day Approaches

This weekend sees the Mighty Arsenal (not so mighty at the moment) take on Spurs in a must win game for both sides. Spurs because heaven forbid actually have a title chance and as for us we need to lock down that 4th position and ensure that Arsenal see Champions League football next season. After all it’s all we have left to go for this season.

It’s the old rivals Spurs that we meet on Sunday and I can tell you that the fans will want a victory. It is at the Emirates and although we have had to shocking results of late they have both been away from home, so hopefully the home ground advantage can set us right again.

In fact it is must win for the players and for Arsene Wenger, there are again rumours of Wenger departing starting to surface and I for one would like to see them put to rest. The problem for us is that Spurs have one of the most lethal attacking formulas and Arsenal is without Mertesacker at the back as well as touch and go with Laurent Koscielny, hopefully the Frenchman will be back and we sure are going to need him, Djourou is completely hopeless.

We need players like Ramsey and Arteta to step up as of late they have been out played in the midfield and they will have the likes of Van der Vaart and Modric to contend with. Walcott if he plays, I hope he won’t, will need to pull his head out of the sand and realise that he has to produce. If the OX can do it at his young age then Theo needs to do it. It really is going to come down to a midfield battle, yes our strike force is deadly on paper, but they need the service from the midfield. I am hoping that Song has a stormer and completely shuts their engine room down.

Only time will tell and all we can do is keep the Faith….
