Gervinho signed…hooray

Reports are streaming in that finally after the longest medical in the world the Ivorian Gervinho has finally signed. Sky Sports News and Arsenal.com have stated that Wenger confirmed it on his arrival in Asia and that Gervinho could fly out and join the rest of the squad later this week.

In a time when I never know if rumours are true and after hearing that he was having a medical more than a week ago finally he has signed, I had wondered what happened. Apparently the Arsenal medical staff misplaced him and couldn’t find him till yesterday…..or at least that would explain why on earth it took so long.

Is this the tipping point in the fortunes of Arsenal after we heard Wenger talk about Nasri and Fabregas…

"Yes [I expect Cesc to stay]. As simple as that," said Wenger at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur.

And also "Yes [I expect Nasri to stay as well]. There is always speculation when a player has one year to go on his contract that he might leave the club but Samir Nasri is very happy at the Club and committed to stay at the Club”

So maybe the signing of Gervinho is a sign that the footballing Gods are done messing with Arsenal and will move onto another team (hopefully Man City or United), but one thing is for sure I like Gervinho and the style of his play. I have always said he would be a good fit for the Gunners and I hope he flies over to join the squad so he can begin his mould into the Arsenal machine as soon as possible……
