Something to smile about.

I’ve only been able to write now as I have started a new job, but I need to voice my happiness, there were a few scares but Arsenal overcame Blackpool to close the gap to 4 points with a game in hand on United. Football 101 a lesson in how Arsenal football should be played……

The Gunners had the early Kick off on Sunday and Almunia was injured in warm up which saw Lehman take up the gloves, my word was I scared what is happening to Arsenal football crises after crises, but Lehman like Arsenal did not disappoint me again…they got an early goal through Diaby and a few minutes Eboue smashed one past the keeper to make it 2-0. You could say that Arsenal were playing well, but I saw things I did not like, for one Arshavin was nowhere really and I am sure that when Theo Walcott is back to full fitness he will take his place. Wilshere although he had a good game he looks rather tired and maybe needs a match rest, it worries me that he is going to play under 21 this summer, but hopefully it benefits him instead of Burnout. Samir Nasri doesn’t get the ball enough for my liking and I have to say that his dip in form may be because he played in the middle while Fabregas was injured, if only he could play in the middle somewhere. You could see Fabregas was not fully fit has he was not goal hungry or his normal ‘box to box’ self, maybe that’s why he was opting for those brilliant bombing balls so he didn’t have to run as much. This brings me to what Arsenal need to fix if they wanna win trophies, how many chances did Arsenal have to score and finish the game off, many many many, especially Van Persie.

Man United take their chances when they come, look at the game against West ham last week, Rooney basically had three chances and he took them all, Arsenal need to do this when we come up against United later this season we won’t have many chances so we need to take what we get. Arsenal were almost made to pay as we missed chances and Blackpool pulled one back to make it 2-1, Lehman was also lucky to not be sent off which would have been a disaster, we were also lucky to not concede a penalty, but bloody hell it’s about time Arsenal had luck on their side. Arsenal sealed it late on when Walcott steamed down the wing to cross to Van Persie who converted, to calm my heart and mind.

So a Win under the belt for Arsenal football club and hopefully it gets them back on track and push those bloody mancs all the way, I’m off to what my old University side the Ikey Tigers win the varsity cup….cheers.
