Reading VS Arsenal - Come on you Guns

Arsenal take on Reading tonight in the Capital One Cup, a clash that will undoubtedly see Arsene Wenger ring the changes. If I was a betting man, which I am, I would say that this is the side I expect to see Wenger put out.

Martínez
Jenkinson, Djourou, Koscielny, Miquel
Yennaris, Coquelin
Walcott, Arshavin, Gnabry
Giroud

The only difference might be if he wishes to play Walcott and Giroud (who I am sure he will) at Old Trafford on the weekend, then we may see the likes of Eisfeld and Chamakh feature. This wouldn't be the worst thing as I would like to see all these players have a run out. As for the defence, all I pray is that someone shines and Wenger sees the light and realises that Santos cannot play against United. If we play Santos against United, Valencia will have a field day. So please Miquel and the rest of you defenders...have a stormer.

Some facts ahead of the Game:

  • Reading and Arsenal have faced each other nine times in their histories, with the Gunners coming out on top every single time.
  • Arsenal won their third-round tie courtesy of a 6-1 thrashing of Coventry City, featuring Olivier Giroud's first goal for the north London side.
  • Arsenal have won the League Cup twice, in 1987 and 1993.
