The Battle of the Right Side

Jenkinson

It's Carl Jenkinson vs Bacary Sagna, it's youth vs experience, it's form vs reliability. I could go on and on but the fact remains that Wenger has a huge dilemma (a good one at that) on his hands with the return of the Frenchman to the Arsenal fold. The Jenk has been in fine form of late, which has even warranted him interest from the England camp.

Santi Carzola just beat out the Jenk for Arsenal player of the month. Think how good a feat that is considering how well the little Spaniard magician has played. Jenkinson has been the form right back in the league this season and has really benefited from what Steve Bould has brought to the defence. So what is Wenger to do.

Sagna played for the U21 team this week and apparently he looked really good. He has always been a consistent performer for Arsenal and in my opinion is the best right back in the Premier league if not the world. Sagna has been full of praise for his Arsenal team mate of late, but I am sure that there is a part of him that is worrying about his place in the starting 11. He is yet to renew his contract which always gets us Guns a little worried, but I feel that this time he will sign.

Jenkinson is the man in form and even though I have a deep love for Sagna, I think the Frenchman will have to be happy with a bench/rotation position for the time being. It is said that competition breeds greatness and I am all for some greatness at Arsenal. We will just have to wait and see what the Boss decides I am sure he has a handle on it.
