Arsenal the Scene is Set and M’Vila News!

The Fact is we blew it against Norwich, we had the opportunity to secure that 3rd place and hanks to some really piss poor defending and let’s be honest keeping. To drop those points at home was a real crime, but yet again it was Captain Fantastic that netted 2 goals and stared for the Gunners. Luckily for us Newcastle was beaten by Man City and 10 man Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa. If those teams had one we would have found ourselves in 5th place and no Champions league football for us next season….which in all honestly would be a complete disaster. But luckily that didn’t happen and now the scene is set for the final fixture.

We travel to West Brom for our final fixture and it is a must win. Nothing else will do. With Chelsea in the Champions league final with Bayern, only 3rd place will do. It may also seem that 3rd place and guaranteed Champions league Football is what we need for Robin Van Persie to remain at the Emirates. West Brom has done well this year under Royo, who is off to the England job after this. So let’s hope that his players don’t want to give him a grand send off. With Sagna injured we will surely be playing young Carl down the right. Gibbs who had a shocker on Sat, may find himself on the bench, but we will have to wait and see. It’s a must win and I am sure Arsene will let the players know, nothing less will do. We will also need this position to be able to secure a number of potential signings. Now speaking of potential Signings let’s look below

Now then we onto Yann M’Vila the deal is reportedly based on a transfer fee of around £16-£18 million with added bonuses. M’Vila’s contract is reported as around £60-£70k per week and is a 4 year deal. We have been linked to the Frenchman for a while, but it all erupted yesterday on Twitter with Alex (@AlexFortyNine) claiming that a source close to Arsenal had informed him of the imminent signing. I must say I follow him and @youaremyarsenal closely and they are more often than not spot on with what they say. So I would pay close attention to this. It seems that after the season is completed the signing will be announced. What is also good to hear is that the signing is not dependent on the qualification to the Champions League.

Julien Laurens a French football journalist based in London working for french daily Le Parisien, RTL and Infosport tweeted this along with other informative tweets: “Very busy yesterday working on M'vila story. Deal 99% done. 22 million euros, 4 years. Great signing for Arsenal and player is delighted”. He also went on to say that M’Vila had turned down Inter for Arsenal.

I think that he would be the perfect signing for Arsenal. The Norwich game again highlighted how Arsenal are weak and can be easily exposed at the back. With Arteta being injured Song has been almost trying to do too much, so with this signing it will give him more freedom. M’Vila is hard defender who is not afraid to make the hard challenges and will Arsenal that cover we so desperately need.

I will be keeping a close eye on proceedings and will keep you updated via @football101blog and @calepissarra
